Well, once again I’ve been thrust into busyness and had little time to write a whole lot in my blog. That doesn’t mean I haven’t had a whole lot on my mind that I could have written about, though – quite to the contrary. Perhaps I’ll bore you with a few details.

First, last month the federal government was defeated by a non-confidence vote. This is the first time this has occured in Canadian history (previoius votes were on spending bills, not direct non-confidence votes), so you could say it is a significant event. The government was a minority Liberal government, and after the vote in January it will probably be again. (Toronto seems to be seeing red lately, sigh.) The corruption laid out by the Gomery report probably played a significant role in this. Of course, the fact that they also essentially forced the same sex marriage bill through, even circumventing the Govenor General in the end, doesn’t bring the party (especially their leader Paul Martin) into much high regard for many either. We’ll see what happens. I can tell you that I won’t vote Liberal and I won’t vote NDP, but I will vote.

On a happier note, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is out now, and my wife, my parents and I are going to see it today at 12:00. It should be fun. Hopefully it will be as good as it looks.

Alana and I were supposed to go to Michigan to visit my aunt and uncle for American Thanksgiving a couple of weeks ago, but a rather major snowstorm kept us from going there. Instead we did a bit of work on the bathroom we’ve been putting upstairs. We did some plastering and sanding, and put on two coats of primer. Then we had to do a bit more plastering on one part. It’s looking good, and we’ll be glad to have the painting done so that we can at least use it fully (everything is taped up right now – especially the shower). We picked out the tiles the same weekend, but we haven’t bought them yet.

Other than that, I’ve been reading a children’s Bible to my son before bed lately, but I haven’t been much impressed with the one I’m using right now. I can understand that it’s a paraphrase, but the way they put things oftentimes makes me groan that the stories in it are not being told properly. If anyone knows of a really good childrens Bible please let me know so that I can get one that is accurate and theologically sound. It’s been difficult to find information on them, so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

That’s all for now, I’ll try to post a few more things today and tomorrow. Have a great weekend!
