Well, the game last night went pretty well. Considering that we play three-pitch it was a fairly low scoring game at 17-12. Our fielding was very good overall, with only a few missteps. I went 3 for 7 (I think) with the last one being a sacrifice fly that never got cashed in. It was an intentional fly, since we had already gotten 7 runs, there was a runner at third, and we have a mercy rule at 8 runs (there was one out). Unfortunately, the runner didn’t stay on the base until the catch and had to go back to third (I guess not expecting the sac). It didn’t matter much in the end anyway as the next hitter got a single to score the last runner.

Our record so far isn’t that great. We’ve won 3 games out of something like 10. Perhaps we’re improving, or perhaps not, but it doesn’t matter so much. My brother Doug’s team is well stacked and they are doing very well (losing only one game so far). Hopefully they’ll continue to do well through the playoffs (many of their players are on our Moorefield team). As it is, we’re just trying to make the playoffs right now, but if we can pick it up, we still have a chance. Once again, the Moorfield tournament is this coming Saturday, so I’ll be trying to stay in shape without injuring myself for a few days. Should be fun…
